I really rely on everything in moderation. For instance, feed more veggies than fruit to your birds.
Of course they will love the fruit and given the chance they will eat mostly that.
If you can, try to by organic produce for you and your birds. I realize that it is expensive. A little is better than none!
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Web site, organic farming, “emphasizes the use of renewable resources and the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality for future generations,” and organic foods are those that are “produced without using most conventional pesticides; fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge; bioengineering; or ionizing radiation.”
Fruit that is imported from can have pesticides on it that are not healthy for you or your birds. Some of those chemicals actually stay in the fruit itself.

Try to feed from the list above with the least of the chemicals.
